Our world is experiencing increasing disasters from typhoons, earthquakes, famines, floods, and other tragedies.  The most important time frame in relief is the first week.  But many organizations have difficulty in responding fast because they do not have available funds or commodities.   Also, the workers best positioned to respond are usually those already on the ground.

To better serve disaster victims through FHIF members, FHIF is creating an emergency relief revolving fund.  This will allow the General Secretariat to send out quickly needed resources to FHIF members to purchase local supplies.  In the days after an emergency, the FHIF emergency relief fund can be replenished through media and traditional  fundraising.
